Why contribute?

Just as our ancestors made leaps of faith when they immigrated to Johnstown, so 1901 Church, Inc. has made a leap of faith in acquiring these properties for $30,000. Why did we do it?

We believe these former churches are monuments to the immigrant laborers and their families. They founded Cambria City's parishes and survived through faith, cooperation and hard work.
We recognize the historical and architectural qualities these buildings contribute to the Cambria City Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
We see the potential these spaces offer to the growing Cambria City Cultural District as larger venues for performing arts, special events and activities.
We have faith that Greater Johnstown's residents will help.

We need your financial contribution! Your gift will help to save these special places, redevelop them into spaces that will add to Greater Johnstown's quality of life and bring new business here.

Your tax-deductible gift will go to the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, which will see that the money is spent appropriately.
